The two biggest part of society that has been influenced by the techie world is telecommunications and the entertainment industry. It is filled of so much high-tech digital equipment. Digital cameras are made with resolution so unbelievable that makes things look real. Then, there is the mobile phones that are handy you can carry them in your pocket.

In the turn of the century, year 2000, Apple Computers realized that everything was made small and handy but the walkman. Topping into this unexplored advancement lead to the birth of the biggest evolution in the music industry. They name it iPod. After perfecting it in their laboratory for a year they unleashed its potential to the market. This name grew bigger by the minute and was welcomed by buyers in replacement of their walkman. Smaller but more efficient in function, this little devise gave the word music a whole new level.

Apple iPods currently are not just a luxury, it has become a must have for all age groups. They come in different variety of sizes and memory capacity. They are classified as of follows:

· iPod – this is the first protocol released with memory of 30 Mega Bytes and 60 Mega Bytes.

· iPod Nano – this is the smallest ever made by Apple Mac but the storage capacity is the biggest and it can come with an LCD for music video streaming or storage; 1 Giga Byte, 2 Giga Byte, 4 Giga Bytes

· iPod Shuffle – this was the most friendly of all iPods because of its compatibility to almost all computer OS software, with memory capability of 512 MB and 1 GB.

Going in depth to this mystical gadget, the iPod as mentioned earlier has different faces. How they slowly developed is the next step to unraveling their birth.

1. Apple iPod the first generation

It first came out as a very expensive commodity. It was prized at 399 dollars but was, without a doubt, a major league hit. It was on the 29th of October in 2001 that this mighty audio player arrived and instantly beating the MP3 players household names like NOMAD and JukeBox.

2. Second Generation iPods

3. Third generation of iPods

There was a new direction of style that the digital era was taking on, the thin slick look that spread itself like a virus. From mobile phones to digital cam recorders, this new look inspire Apple to take their iPods as thin as they can come with.

CEO Jobs, Steve had the privilege of introducing this to the public on the 28th of April in 2003. The new third generation iPod came out looking stylish as ever. Smaller than the 2nd generation and definitely thinner, this was also the first iPod to be USB ready.

4. Fourth generation of iPods

Just when everybody thought the third generation was thin, Apple came up with a slimmer that the thin third generation iPod. This move made the entire buying public crazy, and before you know it has skyrocketed in sales and made iPods a household name in the audio music player industry.

This was the first of it’s kind that had an LCD screen, though when first came out it was monochrome. Then just after a months of waiting the public’s wish was granted when the colored LCD screen came out.

This was also capable of storing photos that are downloadable from the computer. Yet another brilliant innovation!

5. Fifth generation of iPods

Due to the success of the fourth generation photo storing feature, iPod has dawned to another advancement of their new pride. This time they’ve gone beyond their limits

of producing the best digital advancement of this genre. The video streaming and storing iPod, launched on the 12th of October in 2005.

This must be one of the furthest any technology has offered, and with a doubt the one of the fastest developed by a company. There are various phases that the iPod technology when through before arriving to it pinnacle stage.

It was the most skillfully crafted move of Apple to use a USB adapter to its Shuffle. It is the feature of random music selection that made it unique. Though this latest addition to the iPod family has no screen, it was the most convenient to bring. Almost weightless and with the size of a pack of gum, it can be carried around while jogging and whatnot.
